Silicone folding drain rack

I’m not sure what took me so long to find this. I redid my kitchen recently and threw out the 20 year old Rubbermaid drainer and mat (actually I threw it out, my husband salvaged it and put it in the garage thinking I was going to use it again. Not.) I was using a ‘drying mat’ which really is nothing more than a thick towel and I was unhappy with it because dishes and pots don’t really dry quickly...they just sit on a damp towel on my granite all day. So, yes this rack is a really good idea. Dishes and pots dry quickly because air circulates around it (much like the old Rubbermaid dish drainers). Rack is (I think) silicon, so it doesn’t scratch my counter. I have a wide sink, this takes just about half of it, it also gives me a little more coveted counter space when I need it, and allows me to use (half) the sink as well. I like the neutral gray color. To clean it, I just wipe it down. Don’t think about this, just order it. You too can throw out your old Rubbermaid dish drainer :).

I was searching for one of these racks, and it is so hard to tell from pictures what is quality or not. So, I was super excited to see that this one was really nice- I have a traditional/classic kitchen sink and it fits perfectly. It seems a little scary to put heavier things on it, but it holds just fine! I put my crockpot on it and it was good. I am loving it- it makes my counter space look so much nicer and cleaner without the dish rack sitting to the side!

Update 3 mos later: Just came in to order two more (one's for the mom). We decided we want them on both sides of the sink as we've been barely surviving (ha!) with just the one. We have put some very heavy things on this rack and are astonished at its strength. especially since the back and front of the rack cover merely 3/4" with our particular sink. We've found it's great for drying pans upside down that are hot off the stove. We don't even put it in the dishwasher, we just soap it down with piping hot water by hand and let it sit there to dry. Still in the honeymoon phase! --- I'm in the how-did-we-live-without-this camp. Seriously, one of the most useful kitchen gadgets ever! It has myriad uses and has such a low profile that it looks great just hanging out over the sink 24/7. (We only roll it to the side to use/wash the sink.) This "shelf" is just marvelous for drying and cooling things. Two of our favorite uses: watering plants in pots with bottom drain holes, and air drying our larger cooking knives in between chops. YOU MUST HAVE THIS!

Perfect size rack & price! Be sure to measure the sink. Helpful addition to any kitchen. Allows quick rinse items to naturally dry. I leave the rack unrolled, unless i need the sink below it. Provides a stable support for the electric kettle or often, during cooking, ill place a hot lid to rest on it for a a few minutes. Need this for any sink (kitchen or bathroom.)
